The New Year – 2013

At the beginning of the New Year everyone tends to set goals. It is a time to wipe the slate clean and start a fresh. ”You can do anything you set your mind to” and other motivational quotes seem to make more sense during this time of year. For me, 2012 was a terrible year and instead of making my usual laundry list of things I would like to accomplish (improve Spanish/hindi, learn guitar, to sew, etc.), I thought it made sense to write a list of all the things I know I love to do – with the resolution to do more of it!

1.     Traveling – just booked a snowboarding vacation for March and need to find more day trip options

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

2.     Spending focused time with kids where I have planned out the activities (should I have put that as number 1?)

3.     Spending quality time with friends/family over good food & wine

4.     Decorating/Organization

5.     Working with entrepreneurs.

Halloween with Kids

We all gathered at Shivani’s for some yummy Halloween treats and a mini photoshoot – hard to get so many kids under 5 to smile and look at the camera! The kids are too young to carve so we got stickers and let them go nuts with the pumpkins.

To keep the fall spirit going, we spray painted over our pumpkins in white, teel and pink for a festive feel till Thanksgiving.

Trip to Pumpkin Patch.  Always such a fun activity. Although, I think more for us than the kids.

September 11th with Kids

On September 11th we drop by our local fire station to deliver cookies and say thanks.

Favorite activity is to bake cookies with the kids and take it to the local fire department. The kids love going there and usually end up with a hat and sticker and the local heroes get some well deserved appreciation.
